Application of Essential Oils Onto Patogen Bacteria

At present the problem of the resistance of bacteria against antibiotics is becoming more frequented-a wrong approach to using antibiotics. In the past, medical herbs were the only way nature offered. Gradually, herbs have been almost eliminated by synthetic preparations and antibiotics. The objective of our project was to test and prove antibacterial effect of essential oils. As for the effect on Acinetobacter, the inhibition zone of lemon oil was on average 14,76mm, while the inhibition zone of the antibioticum Gentamicin was only 9,35mm. Such findings could significantly influence the development of drugs in the future, mainly with regard to the growing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics. In future, we would like to aim our efforts at increasing the variety of usable essential.
