Investigating the Effect of Green Tea on the Growth of Probiotic Bacteria Combination

Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer in the world. It has an estimated mortality rate of 36.8% in America. Certain probiotic bacteria have been associated with anticarcinogenic properties. Green tea has been speculated to facilitate the growth of probiotic bacteria in the gut and it would increase the quantity of natural probiotic bacteria in the human body and essentially help prevent gastro related diseases such as diarrhoea and colorectal cancer. My experiment evaluates the potential growth correlation between green tea and probiotic bacteria. The results demonstrate that there is a positive correlation between green tea and probiotic bacteria. It can be concluded that green tea has properties which enhance the growth of probiotic bacteria.
