Inspired by the team leader’s younger brother who has Down Syndrome along with various health and mobility issues, this wheelchair-accessible, hand-controlled hot rod has been designed and built in roughly three months. This unique vehicle will enable paraplegic drivers to try driving a form of transport (and ultimately motorsport) which they would normally struggle to access due to limited accessibility and the inability to use the ‘normal’ controls. The vast majority of components have been recycled from scrap, providing the project with very eco-friendly credentials; even when powered by a 4-litre V8 engine!
