The textile-based tensoresistive sensors’ operation and their usage in the innovative technologies

Endless opportunities offered by new technologies inspired us to create an electronical device which could not only develop entertainment industry but also could make an improvement for rehabilitation, physiotherapy and sport. We started to explore tensoresistive sensors which change its resistance to exposure of an external power. We created a fabric with textile-based tensoresistive sensors and an experimental sock to test the abilities of this fabric. We tested various foot motion and analysed weather it is possible to recognize each motion. We created a prototype which transfers and stores data to the computer. The sock can definitely be used in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and training analysis because it is possible to distinguish each movement from resistance changes in the sensors.
