We studied 9 close binary stellar systems in which one component eclipses another moving along its orbit. We found the increase or decrease of the period between eclipses in 6 systems. These changes can be caused by mass transfer between components. We calculated the rates of the mass transfer. Also, we found periodic changes of the period for 6 systems …
A STUDY OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN A MAGNETIC FIELD AND ELECTROLYTIC IONS
My aim with this Project was to get experimental data with very basic material and techniques, and giving a more complex theoretical approach within this data. The experiments were ran with simple-high-school-material, and were recorded with a Smartphone. Later and with a video-analysis software I modelized and got data from those videos, doing a statistical study with which I did …
A Study of Visualizing the Characteristic of Capacitor and Gauss‘s Law by using LED
We suggest a new method to visualize the characteristic of capacitors and Gauss’s Law. We did experiments to confirm that the LED can visualize the electric field. And Based on these, we did experiments about various properties of capacitor and Gauss’s law by the intensity of LED’s light in capacitor. In conclusion, we have shown that LED light can show …
Complex of technical devices and software “HoF” (“Hand of Friend”) for using in laboratory works with disabled children (visually or hearing impaired)
Nowadays, small and medium agricultural enterprises use a substantial amount of resources for the processing, monitoring and control of their land. According to Eurostat Statistics about half of the irrigable area (6.2% out of 11.3%) is actually being irrigated. Thus, there is a substantial niche for engineering solutions, aimed at the automatisation of the process. Intelligent planting is a product …
Investigation of salinity impact on rate and amplitude of the seasonal water temperature changes in a fjord in Western Norway
This study in physics of fjords and lakes investigates the impact of salinity on density stratification. The hypothesis of a fjord being more stratified and warming/cooling faster than a freshwater lake is formulated. Data is gathered using a kayak, long temperature probe and two methods of water sample collection. Temperature and salinity data is collected throughout the year 2014 in …

Microelectromechanical structure for sensing of low frequency sounds and vibrations
The sensing of low frequency sounds and vibrations as well as converting their energy to electric current is a frequently recurring problem, as most of the sounds and vibrations found in our environment is characterized like this. The project proposes a solution in the form of a Microelectromechanical Structure (MEMS) whose fundamental frequency is around 200-300Hz, resonating with a high …
A wing is enough: An improved flying wing based on a bell-shaped lift distribution
Flying wings are aircraft without a fuselage and tail assembly. They stand out from conventional aircraft due to their optimised aerodynamics and significantly lower fuel consumption. But these special aircraft also have downsides. They are difficult to steer and are prone to entering a spin. Based on a design developed by the Horten brothers in the 1930s, passionate model aircraft …
